USAGE OF ROTARY INSTRUMENTS
What is all about the course?
During various operations, dental health experts might use a rotary instrument to remove or reduce tooth substances and dental materials, as well as to shape teeth.
The blades or diamond grit that remove material contained. How to modify the way the bur works. How can the blades be positioned at different angles. How to increase the bur’s strength and lifespan.
Usage of the instrument:
- Burs should be replaced periodically to avoid operating on a patient with a dull, worn, or damaged bur.
- Never try to shove a bur into a turbine
- Stick to the prescribed air pressure and speed. This is especially true for burs
- When using the bur, do not apply any pressure.
- Avoid keeping the bur stationary; continual movement will prevent the bur from burning.
Usage Of Rotary Instruments

During various operations, dental health experts tend to use a rotary instrument to remove or reduce tooth substances and materials and shape teeth. This course will cover all the detailed core concepts and topics, including finding out about the blades or diamond grit that help in removing the contained materials, how to modify the way the bur works, and How the blades are supposed to be positioned at different angles, How to increase the bull’s strength and lifespan and much more.

Guidelines to properly use the instrument
- Before each use, sterilize all burs.
- Burs should be replaced periodically to avoid operating on a patient with a dull, worn, or damaged bur.
- Never try to shove a bur into a turbine.
- Stick to the prescribed air pressure and speed. This is particularly true for burs with a large head size or coarse diamond grit size, as excessive speed might result in unwanted heat.
- When using the bur, do not apply pressure.
- Avoid keeping the bur in a stationary position, continual movement will prevent the bur from burning.
- Never “extend” the bursa (always fully insert the bur into the handpiece chunk)
- Always use the bur with enough water to keep it cool.
- Never use a bur in a worn chuck; it could cause bur slippage and/or vibration, which could result in breakage.
